Not stripped mine as yet but will need a spare to take with me to the MGP just in case. In the meantime it would be better to leave one engine complete and work on the other.....
Erm mine has not run and is still not fully built (the guy I bought it off has taken the oil and water thingys off amongst other things, but the main engine is together though)..time is marching on
Still looking, will email number6 in the meantime

John's correct although I think in this case the seller put the engine on a small pallet and strapped it to it. He also packed any inlets with paper towelling and put a couple of plastic airbags on it. Did a really good job - they must have had 2 people lift it on the van and I helped the driver off with it when it arrived. On the quote site I gave I'm pretty sure I put it down as 60kg which is more than likely on the light side but no-one queried it. There was just a notification to say that someone must be there to help the driver unload it. Hope that helps. Mike

Hi Mike thanks for the comment. What was the distance from A to B with your engine? Did you get it going OK John Roger O;Hanlon

Hi John According to Google maps the distance was just over 300 miles. I've not run the engine so I've no idea if its a 'good un'. However, the reason I got it was because the seller had had the shims done and other work - and with my original coming up to 25K I thought it a good idea to be able to swap one for the other so I can do the shims on the original without any deadline. I paid £90 for the engine - which I'm happy with as I'm under the impression it could easily cost that much to have the shims done. Mike

Shims were £6.00 each when I bought mine last year so if you have to replace all 20 of them it would cost about a million pounds I think?
