Can anyone supply me with a horn and a seat lock with key, or..... does anyone have any ideas about replacing the seat lock with something else. I've removed the lock for now and just open the catch with a screw driver of anything. Problem being so could anyone else. Thanks

This is something I need to consider as I want to replace my seat cover so all advice is welcome.
Oh, and the horns on FZs are crap. Didn't stop a recovery truck reversing into mine so it's gonna be replaced. When I find a replacement you can have mine for postage.

as above flippin' rubbish horn on my bike. you might get as better sound from it by tweaking the teeny weeny grub screw that's on the face of it but don't hold me to it.

Already tried with this one Graham. Stripped and cleaned, adjusted shims, tuned, everything, but it's still like a mouse fart

probably your best bet as long as there is room for one?

I'm planning on using the original wires to fire a relay, and putting in some decent guage stuff to the horn so things don't get too hot. That means I can put it anywhere.
Just inside the side cowling by an air vent is my probable choice at the moment.

FZ seat, fuel cap and helmet hook locks can be opened up and modified to work with your ignition key, so if you get hold of a second hand lock you're laughing. I cant remember exactly how you open them but it's to do with the copper coloured plate with a small hole drilled in it which is visible on the bottom of the barrel. Once you're in there you need to move the copper push rod things to suit the key you want to use. You sometimes need to modify them slightly with a needle file. I've done this several times in the past with very good results

In theory you should be able to use any 12v bike or car horn for that matter. Most bike horns have the same method of mounting and have a 2 spade connection.
