The stripes are almost certainly vinyl and so would have a part number rather than a paint code.

The FZ on the picture is one of the last ones they made bfore Yamaha discontinued production of the FZ and focused on the already booming FZR. I guess this grey one to be a late 1990 model and I would love to add it to my collection - then I would have the first and last and about 8 inbetween..... As for the colour if you contact Mike Wignall at Cambridge Metallics he will match all your plastics to that colour and will fit matching vinyl decals. He has contacts who will locate the exact colour scheme. Having used Cambridge Metallics to do a job on my pearlescent VW Golf TDi I have to say that the finished result is second to none and you do actually get what you pay for. Mikes website is www.cambridgemetallics.co.uk and if you mention the Yamaha FZ750 owners club he will sort out a discount as he is a member being the owner of four FZ's Regards, John

Hi thanks for all the info , but i'm trying to do this with original unmolested panels etc . New parts are still available so would prefer to use these even if expensive . Mad i know .

Cheers crusty , only problem is my bike was originally white so if the colour code is in the frame number it's not going to help , also i took my bikes details to the yamaha dealer in Woking Surrey and the punched the details in and told me the bike doesn't exist even though i have a V5 log book they said even the reg didn't show up not bad concidering i had only got the log book from the dvla 2 days before hand .

Find someone who had the colour bike you want. Use their frame number.

Don't think too many people would be willing to hand over their frame number but i'll give it ago . Cheers

I make it a 91 or 92. Just ask the supplier nicely.......

Hi Brian I do have the same color scheme WITH PINK STRIPE, according to what I have found out, RS paints quote it as Grey (Tank and V Max Blue) in photos it looks black and grey but when you get up close its very dark blue / Purple with tiny blue specs in. The pinstrip is also not what it seems at distance. Oh and Its yr is 89 Genesis. If I can work out how to post some pics I will ( Its an Age thing need to get me teenager to actually do something LOL)
