I have a doubt. I want to remove the original mirrors but I don't understand if the screws are locked direct to the fairing frame or there is a nut. I've seen there is no space to avoid the nut to fall if I remove the screw!

They bolt into a pair of nuts that are joined by a plate.
The whole assembly slides in and out of the frame.

I think there should be a metal bracket with 2 captive nuts on it which slides in to the gap in the fairing frame. I say "think" because I had to make a pair for my bike. The bracket is too big to fall down inside the frame with the nuts removed (mine is at least). Someone should be along soon to tell us for sure.

I know what they are after replacing the subframe on mine after the bike/recovery truck incident.
A bit of a shame that I found out after swinging the subframe round on the in-laws drive. Trying to find 2 two inch long bits of metal in the dark isn't fun.....

Thank you for the answer! The thing I haven't understand is if I remove the screws the nut number 49 of this scheme: will fall fall into the fairing. I want to replace original mirrors and I don't understand if I can simply remove the screws, place the new mirror and fix it with the screws or if I have to remove other parts!

Well, you can either take my word for it, or I can waste my time tomorrow taking one of my mirrors off and take a photo of the bit.
No.s 47 and 49 are one piece. Whats missing from that exploded diagram is 2 extra 49s. If you look there is no nut for the upper hole on both mirrors.
By the way no 46 is made of rubber.
No. 51 costs £5, but no £50 is about £250......

Don't worry for the picture Crusty! It's only because my english is so and so and sometimes I don't understand all that you write! It's my fault! So if 47 and 49 are one piece there is no problem of nuts falling! It's right?

Don't worry, I'm just annoyed because it's MOT day tomorrow and my front left brake calliper is binding.......
