Hello All, My name is Eric and I have an addiction , I can't get away from FZ's . No matter what I do they seem to follow me home . It all started in 1989 when I bought my first one ,a theft recovery . from that time on I have owned many other bikes but FZ's have had a hold on me , I need help ,I want build an eddie lawson inspired clone with some updated parts. I have one runner and two donor bikes . I will be asking silly questions and as I am in denial as to my addiction , will probably ask them more than once ;D . Thank you friends for listening to my sad tale , be easy on me, my psyche is fragile.

Hi Eric, welcome to the forum! All I can say is you are not alone. After having loadsa bikes since the age of 13 I am now 47 and have come to appreciate the FZ in just over a year-and boy what a year! Don't know what it is but it probably has something to do with 8000 RPM when the old girl shows you all she has....and all you can do is gently let back the throttle as you are aware of her fragile disposition, not to mention age and last but not least her stopping ability because once an FZ is in full song there is no stopping her.... I think it is that as a teenager I used to ride RD 250's and GT250's and then the LC 350's and what a buzz for a 9 stone juvenile.....Nowadays 30 years of drinking Guiness has taken it's toll and so with the extra kilos the FZ manages to give that same 1980's buzz that I felt with the old 250's AND the brakes are just as bad! Well done Eric for following your dreams.
