I have the problem that the plug leads have broken down and short like mad when damp. Trouble is on my FZ the leads seem to be molded into the coils. What are you supposed to do cut off the old lead and solder the new ones on? Any suggestions would be appreciated as well as a good place to source plug caps.

What about using some shrink sleeving or another insulating sleeve around the leads to stop it tracking across?

There are connectors available but I'm not sure how good they are and to me it seems a bit pointless putting new/performance leads on and leaving part of the old lead in place. Bite the bullet and buy some Dyna coils.

You can replace the whole lead. They're not moulded in, they just screw onto a self tapping screw terminal. The only difficulty is that the hole the lead disappears into has a slight dogleg in it halfway down which makes it hard to get the new lead in. You need 7mm copper core lead which is dirt cheap if you can find someone who still has some. I posted a detailed description of the method on the FZ750.com or FZ750.net site. I think it was in response to a query by "Eaglehawk". Horse
