-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chain blew off. It was on my list of things to do. I had just sanded the rotors and cleaned the pads and took it for a ride. Made it all the way to Fresno, and was almost back to Coarsegold and dropped it down a gear to pass and BOOM!. I had triple A. Look like there is no damage. I obviously need to clean it and change the Sprockets. If you look in the red circle you can see the link, I was gonna take the chain off anyway, the bike just did it for me. Funniest part was spending ten minutes trying to pop it back into gear and then seeing the chain was missing Here are some pics; In case you think I am messy, this is my Ducati Sprocket, i am usually very clean. Got er up and running again. Put on new brake pads and plugs while she was down waiting for chain/sprockets. Runs fantastic with the Kerker I got off EBay for 112 bucks!! I paid 750 and put in round 500 bucks and I could not be more excited with the way it runs. Still a few more things to sort out, but overall, I am in love with this thing. New pics..

That was lucky.
When I was a courier a local shop sold me a kit but it was not the correct strength. I had ridden from London to Leicester 110 miles. I stopped at a set of lights in Leicester and as I pulled away the chain snapped and smashed the starter motor housing. Had to push the bike 4 miles home.
I got the shop to pay for new C + S kit 3 days off work and repair to engine.
Think I was lucky too

Great reminder post! My chain and sprockets were on my "to do" list LAST summer. You don't ever think it'll happen to you I guess. They just went to the top of my list! Thx!! Dave
BTW, how can you determine good quality for chains and sprockets? I see them all the time on ebay, etc., ...should I avoid them there and buy brand name??

Thats a bit like asking 'If I eat a kebab will I have the shits in the morning?'
You buy 'new' stuff off Ebay, you assume the quality is shit.

B&C express are generally regarded as suppliers of good quality chain & sprocket kits. Go with what you know would be my advice.

sorry Dave I forgot you are in Canada. Don't know if B&C will be cost effective for you as they are UK based I think.

No problem Graham. I got the idea though...I can find a distributor such as that here and avoid a bad deal on ebay, etc. Trying to save a few dollars on chains and sprockets isn't too smart anyway. Temporary leave of my senses I'll call it. LOL Dave

You've got a hell of a bike there for $1200 or so. Looks great Gunzen.
I noticed the solo seat cowl has been added from the first photos, where did you get it???

It came with the bike when i bought it, but I have had to make some mods to make it fit. I think it is off another bike, FZR??? cause if you look at the bolt pattern vs the seat pad, the pad is too far forward. I have been messing with it to make it fit right. getting close. paint is a tad off too. Some day I might have some paint work done, and I will match it. But for now, it looks decent enough.
