does any one have a template for making of brackets to fit exup calipers on to standard forks or any other calipers for that matter, i have an exup front wheel and discs, ( bigger discs) it would speed up my friend doing them for me as he is over worked at the mo and i need to ride the bike as it is getting sunny.

Hi, Yamaha FZ6 calipers fit the standard forks but not sure about the 1000 wheel and discs. Hope that helps, Fatbloke so fz6 calipers fit standard fz750 forks? what discs do you use? would love to do a brake upgrade without changing the whole front end.

thats what i am trying to do , but i was a bit dim and thought i could just put a 1000 exup front end on but the bars are mounted under the top yoke so they hit. the fairing. so i am trying tp use the exup wheel and discs with the exup calipers. i have put fz bearings in the exup wheel as the spindle is a different size. and am waiting for some brackets to be made, but if the fz 6 has calipers that fit i might try those, dont know if they will work with the exup discs though. Fz6 is that the fazer or the fz600? sooo confused at the moment it handles weird with the 180 exup wheel on the back + exup arm and thunderace shock so i thought the 17 front might sort it out instead of the 16 inch wheel . What do people think ??

Hi all, in previous posts from "nads", he posted pics of his bike and he put 2005 FZ6 calipers on it. Do a search on his posts...it was Jul 16, 2010 5:38pm. According to him they bolt straight on.

thanks i had a look and it seems that they do bolt on but with standard discs or ones that. fit the standard wheel i will be useing the 17inch exup wheel with the big discs. the other option is to put the exup front end on without the fairing untill i can get some raised clip ons like they make for the R1 etc. i really make my life hard for my self sometimes

Hi there, new to the board. I have a set of adapters on mine for the FZR1000 brakes. I believe it'll work with the R1 Blue Dots etc.

Thanks, is that with the exup wheel and discs? And do they go on to the standard fork mounts? as i am going mad i have now managed to get the exup yokes to fit with modified lock stops as the standard ones missed the frame stops. This means that i can run the complete exup front end .... But.... the bars a re still a problem so i am looking for some 43mm clip ons with a two inch rise or maybe 3 inch. This might be easier than putting the exup calipers etc on standard forks. i some times wish i had never taken it apart

Well I'm sorry to disappoint but I'm not the guy that did it. I gentleman I bought the bikes from had done all the work, and made it a track bike. From what I remember he told me he modified the wheels to fit the regular FZ750's bearings, and thereby accept the stock axles. He then shaved down the rear brake carrier and rear cush drive plate to clear the swingarm. Pardon my pics, my wife is out and about and apparently has the good camera. And lighting is not so good in my garage! And I officially give up trying to post pics. Something funky going on here, so here's a link to my picasa album. picasaweb.google.com/leoric.rolf/Apr92011?feat=directlink

sorry for the slow reply guys, yes the 05 FZ6 calipers fit the standard fork legs and standard discs. They are a significant improvement over the standard set up too,
Many thanks Fatbloke

Yep fz6 05 calipers bolt straight on. I am still not overly happy with setup though, stop good but not much feel. Fat bloke did you change master cylinder too? Thinking this might be the issue but can't find any info on size of fz6 master.

The only thing i did do was change the standard pads to EBC HH. They improved feel but i do agree that there is a lack of feel. I just accepted that in exchange for being able to stop It might be worth trying the FZ6 master cylinder to see if that improves things? Fatbloke

A common upgrade for the TRX850 was R1 blue spot calipers which improved braking hugely but lacked feel unless the R1 master cylinder was also fitted.
