Yep sure can.I have removed & replaced many engines many times all on my lonesome. Remove as much as possible first, cables etc & support with trolley jack, then undo all engine mounts last, leave the one at the rear of the engine until last & slightly loosen swingarm bolt, lower jack slightly to tip engine forwardthen remove the last bolt & lower carefully. These engines are not the lightest in the world so prepare for a hernia!!

You SHOULD actually find it easier than Scobri to remove your engine, firstly the only reason that he has to replace his engines on his lonesome is because he's got no mates! And secondly you're more than likely to be younger than Scobri and therefore have less chance of getting a hernia. Ha Ha

ok , in the end i decided to use a variation of something i have done before on a cb750f . i found a small pallet from work , cut some blocks of wood and screwed them to the pallet inline with the two cast mounts on the lower crankcase at the front and between the frame rails at the where there are two crankcase bolts . nicked some adjustable feet from work with 8 inchs of thread and just jacked it up till the engine was supported , removed bolts and lifted frame off the top
