Hi Alison, I would have loved to have a go but we will be getting the tent etc. ready for Olivers Mount. BTW you are not too old...I was born in July 1964 and don't feel old although I do feel a bit knackered at times....

Unfortunately I can't make the Brands track day but me and Scobri are doing the Mallory track day on 3rd July if anyone else is going. Get some pics Allie, enjoy 'yersen' and 'whup' some new bikes.

Bl00dy youth I was born in 1959 and feel a bit knackered ALL the time ;D Indie or GP Ali? I almost certainly won't have an engine back together by then, otherwise I would have done. I suppose you're doing the day rather than the evening?

Someone once asked which I would have given the choice- altzeimers or parkinsons....I would go for parkinsons....better to spill half my pint than forget where I left it LOL

[i will be doing the indie circuit, just have to put my rearsets on and see if the pipe is ok noise wise, i will take the gixxer micron silencer just in case, just bought a back protector and some knee and shin gaurds, as i have just had an op 3 months ago on a knee so am a bit protective of it. I use to do average 1min laps on my elsie sometimes under so if i get to within 4 or five secs of that i will be happy ;D oldies rule huh !!

Definitely take the silencer, they're getting really strict (people buying houses next to one of the most famous circuits in the country and then moaning about the noise ). They won't even let clubs run the testing any more, they insist on circuit people doing it and they won't hesitate to stop you going out if you fail. Out of interest, I re-packed the original silencer for my Gibson pipe and put it on for testing one meeting there last year. It made about 114dB - the bloke testing got genuinely angry about it and suggested i got rid of it in a way which would have been truly uncomfortable...

Had a brilliant time at Mallory. Niether me or Scobri rode our FZ's but will try and get some pics on here later. I'm still smug having taken my kronky old X7 and being overtaken by a Ducati 848 on the straight only to overtake the same bike around the long Gerrards corner, in fact my best overtaking part was Gerrards, I got overtook at most other parts of the track but cosidering that I'd got the smallest bike there I'm not bothered. Am still grinning like mad thinking of the day. Brilliant!!

considering he was on an old un,with probably 35hp down on everything else he was going real well. My FZ was there but just didn`t go on track,I was riding an old CBR600 steely, my daughter timed me on a couple of sessions & I was only about a second off front running pace in the steel frame class, well happy with that considering it was a borrowed bike. Roll on next time eh!!!

One of my best races on the Gt was at Mallory , My ego was boosted with a 6th in class and some people telling me i had embaresed a few x7' and Rd/'s how cool huh! and a trophy at brands on it as well!!! i loved my GT no one else was racing one.. i was special.. and .. had a special buss chuckle
