According to the DVLA the number of FZ's in the UK are dwindling and hence why we are not seeing membership growth on this forum. My suggestion is to embrace all the 'genesis' models up to 1995 (I think this was the year when the name 'genesis' disappeared) I think this would generate a lot more interest in the forum? That's an interesting link but I wonder how accurate the data is - especially since the source is the DVLA ;D. The numbers for the last few years seem fairly stable at about a dozen on the road but if that's right there must have been a cluster round where I live - I had one of three that were regularly seen on the A3. There's also an obvious anomaly with numbers increasing steadily from 1997 to 2003 - maybe the changeover to digital records? Cool link though

Hmmmmmm.. . I really like the little FZ family we have on here. I also love most of the bike Yamaha made in the 80s & 90s, just not sure if this place will lose its identity by changing it now? I do however, have an idea.. .

Seems to me that sorta highlights the SINFUL nature of wrecking any FZ to reap cash and a couple of parts. Instead of sourcing the bits from local or even International aftermarket suppliers &/or manufacturers even if the group has to commission these outfits to build pieces for our vehicle of "choice"? There is a heck of a lot of other model Yamahas that carry the same part numbers for various FZ 750 pieces. So new parts and NOS are available in some degree still. " STOP SLAUGHTERING THE GENIE "

i have 3 fzs on the road and another 2 in bits I've decided due to having no room to sell off the fzs in bits because it will hopefully help someone put another fz on the road and the money is then put back into keeping the 3 on the road

John, I posted an "opinion poll" thread at the time of my idea & the almost unanimous decision from the forum members who replied was that we stay strictly FZ's only. It was so long ago I almost forgot.

There doesn't seem to be too many FZ around anywhere. I've owned 3 since 85 and love them but they were never as coveted as the GSXR's or Ninja's. You just don't see FZ's running around, the peeps that own them hang on to them and the peeps that want them know what the bike is all about. I just found another 85 in a barn (literally) complete bike with spare plastics and the guy was going to send it to the scrape yard for $50 bucks. I gave him $25 and took it home, dude didn't know what he had. I think we are all a tight knit family because we know the history of these machines and what they are capable of. Plus the fact, we all love to REALLY ride.

Mine has been written off (one paid out and bought back from the insurance company, one not claimed for and fixed anyway) in the 4 years I've had it.
And no, I'm not a shite driver, first time a recovery truck reversed into it, second time some scrotes tried to steal it...
