Hey peeps. My frame is cracked behind the rear engine mount on the left downtube (the crack follows where the engine mount was welded in) and I was wondering if anyone had any info/pictures on where to brace the FZ's frame, because they obviously have some flex issues? Cheers, Paul

I think Gavin (fz750horse) has some pics of his frame bracing. It is behind/below the carbs when everything is put back together. If you can't find anyone to weld yours they do come up on ebay quite often.

In the first photo you linked to showing the engine bracing, the crack is behind the engine mount along where its welded in, just up from where your lower frame bracing was done. The bike has had two stationary drops in its life. Once by the previous owner, and once by me. Both on grass. When I looked at it, it seemed to me it was caused by flex. There was a thread on fz750.com about a possible fault with the 85 model frames, which is what made me look in the first place. I hadn't been online for a while, and then remembered that there seemed to have been more activity on this forum.
Cheers for the link about the bracing. I'll pull the bike apart and get to work on fixing it :-)
