Is anyone running YZF750 carbs and this type of filters on their FZ, I could do with some info on jetting so I have a starting point for fine tuning on the dyno. cheers Robbo.

Hi Robbo
Can i ask you how you fitted them to the bike? YZF inlet manifolds are too big and the Fz's are too small. I'm planning to do this to my 1000 and wondered how you did it? Cheers

Howdo Gaz,
As the yzf carbs are 38mm and fzr1000 genesis are 37mm i bought a set of used 1000 genny inlet manifolds and a set of new 1000 genny inlet rubbers from bikebusiness on the bay(20 odd quid a set). The new rubbers are soft enough to be persuaded to fit onto the yzf carbs with help from a little bit of rubber grease. I found fitting the rubbers to the carbs first then onto the manifolds easier.
Robbo.

As a hint, you can get old (shrunk) rubbers to go on by sitting them in boilding water for 5 minutes. The same approach would work with new rubbers that are slightly too small for their fitment.
