I'm looking for a reasonable condition exhaust for my fz750 mines rusted through but can't afford the £300 price of a new stainless one.
If anyone has one lying around after swapping pipes or an engine swap I would be interested in taking it off their hands.
I'm not too worried how it looks or what brand it is as long as its not corroded it will do to get me on the road.
*Oops sorry should have been in the wanted section.

What pipe do you have at the moment, I have a set of Micron front pipes & can but no collector unfortunately, just wondered if you can make one good one out of that lot.

I basically just have a reasonable condition end can the rest of it is maybe salvageable but if i got it welded up I think it will just rust through again sooner rather than later.
Thanks for the offer but I don't think with the bits I've got I can make that work.
Someone seems to have already attempted a fix by putting plates over some bits but the weld weren't a very good standard so gasses are escaping out of the welds.
I'm wondering if its possible to fit an FZR750 exhaust. I've heard of people using a fz exhaust on an fzr so I may give that a go. I don't suppose any of you have had any luck with that?
I'm not sure what exhaust I've currently got but it doesn't look so be stock as its a 4-2-1 but it might just be a bodge on the old one.
I'll post a picture of the old one tomorrow if I remember to take one while I'm at the workshop.

As this is phil's thread/post thing I would like second dibs on what's been mentioned above by scobri & now Crusty. My Laser system was very sad when I bought it so I have repaired it lots. I'm not over the moon with it so if I could lash.. . fabricate something respectable from the above parts I would be over the moon.

Well, your welcome to my bits Graham, I don't want anything for them apart from whatever getting them to you costs me. I don't think you'll need to do any fabrication The brand new micron I bought to replace this one is identicle and so mine and Scobri's bits should mate together perfectly. At worst you'll need some springs to hold it together.....
Always assuming that scobris has the flanges that go into the engine cause mine are fucked....

You'll get all of this apart from the end can.... Basically this bit (this is the new one btw, you'll get the old one....) Like I say, the collets/flanges are a bit fucked but if Scobri has them you are laughing

Oh I see I thought from the picture in your other thread the down pipe was corroded but its just the flanges. The flanges on mine are still ok as far as I can tell but I've no idea if they're removable. Would I have to cut them off and weld them on the new one?
If there's a whole one to made then that would definitely work and if not then I can send them back or onto whoever.
Obviously if I can make one with bits left over then that would be even better and the left overs can go to whoever wants them.
Just let me know how much you guys want for the postage and bits.
I've never put on an exhaust so am winging it a bit but I've got plenty of people around me who know what they're doing so should be fine.

These flanges do come out but they are specific to a Micron as far as I know.
Micron have gone bust so you won't be able to buy them. You could potentially use them as a pattern and get some made up.

Assuming they are all the same then I don't think getting them made would be difficult. I'll investigate that further. Scobri's pipe might be fine which would solve the problem. That is if scobri is still ok with parting with bits. I took a picture of the exhaust that was taken off but the guys round the corner that restore bikes basically told me to bin it. Don't know what they were as there's no manufacturer on it but it certainly doesn't look original.

If you guys just want to let me know what you want for the bits and/or postage for the bits then that would be awesome and I can give it all a go and see if I can make it work.

You can have my bits for the cost of the postage, or alternately I'll up at Sutton-in-Ashfield in a week or so's time (near Mansfield) if you want to collect and save some cash.

That's very generous of you.
Thanks for the offer but I have just today found an exhaust on ebay. Its actually from an FZR750 but after much searching about through part numbers etc I discovered that they are interchangeable.
This one should fingers crossed bolt straight on with maybe a bit of minor fabrication for a bracket which I think I would have needed to do whatever.
I'm hoping this may also help someone else in the future because I couldn't find anywhere that said an fz and fzr exhaust is more or less bolt on. They are the same part number from Yamaha but the frz came with an additional bracket for mounting.
I'll report back with how fitting went when it arrives (hopefully before the weekend) then I can finally see if the bike runs.
If anyone wants the old pipes for whatever reason then let me know otherwise it will probably be going to the tip or scrap yard next week.
