Hello all. After getting my clogged carb/dead cylinder issues fixed I have found the bike wants to die at low idle. She runs fine over 1500 rpm but when I try to get the idle down to 1000 rpm or less she sputters and dies. Is this a jet issue? I have not checked the plugs but she seems to be running rich just from the smell of the exhaust. Gassy....

My money is still on gunked up carbs. You would be amazed at how delicate they are when dealing with 25 year old carbs that have been stood for anything over 6 months. I'm only just seeing this for myself with trying to sort a good set of 4 for my FZ. Be sure I will post my findings on here very soon.

Hey Graham, good to hear from you again. Is your sorting anything like your balancing?? I will let you know my findings also.

Hello again. I just remembered some information I used back in my racing days from FactoryPro Carb Tuning. I used FactoryPro Jets in my Hondas and they were always very very helpful when I called for help. The FactoryPro.com site has some very helpful information on CV carb tuning (high rpm engines of course) It might not fix my issues but the info is useful and might help others on this forum.
