So finally got the bike insured today and got it out, the previous owners disconnected the alarm to stop it going off when the battery ran out over winter. However I tried to reconnect it earlier which I assumed they'd just disconnected the power supply. But when I tried to reconnect the ring, the dashboard started to light up despite the parking lock being on and the key not connected to it.
This seems a bit weird, concerned you can start the bike without keys, also if this ring (cable) isn't the alarm, then how would I reconnect it.

I would be tempted to junk the lot if it's giving you grief. They (alarms) are a huge pain in the ass to me & worry me that they will fail when you are miles from home.

Mhm I can understand that my interests are in the cost of the insurance, having an alarm I figured would decrease insurance.

To understand whats wrong, we'd need to know the wiring loom of the alarm.
Alarms aren't standard to FZs
