Anyone got a junk 2mg or FZR shock I can have cheap? I want to get my project on it's wheels but don't want to spend much until I get an idea of what length shock I'm going to need. I've still got quite a few FZ odds and sods - possible swapsies if I've got something you need?

Ian - that's all fine by me, thanks.
Alison - I might be interested but I want to get an idea of what the bike looks like on it's wheels with the R1 fork and shortened swingarm first. Am I right in thinking the FZR750 shock has a remote reservoir and ride height adjuster?

Anything that's about a foot long, cheap, and will fit the 2mg/fzr mounts will do me at the moment - I just want to get the thing up on it's wheels and thought a scrap shock would be easier than welding up some sort of strut. If it's an R6 shock in good nick it must be worth more than a tenner though? What's the length between the mounting holes? I thought R6 shocks were quite short compared to the FZ?

Hi I'll measure up tomorrow for you, it might be from summat else but looks a bit R6ish. It fits fine and I can send it with the bolts too. I said £10 so £10 it is to you. Man of my word etc. It will teach me to look first before quoting a price!! Ta FB

Am I right in thinking the FZR750 shock has a remote reservoir and ride height adjuster? doesnt have a ride height adjuster but does have a remote reservoir, it ok for setting stuff up , but you might be better off with the R shock as i think it is a bit tired , its free though postage would be the only cost ;D

Allie, I'll have it if that's ok - the OE shock would be a good place to start from (sorry Bradbloke, I'll offer it back on here when I've finished with it ). Let me know the postage costs and I'll send you some money by PayPal or whatever you prefer.
