I bought a Thundercat rear wheel with badly reduced caliper bracket to fit my FZR1000 arm a few weeks ago. Bought another caliper bracket, had exactly 4.5mm machined from the right hand side of it & it all fit perfectly. Only problem being I then had odd wheels. Powder coated grey TRX wheel up front, painted black Thundercat wheel at back. I have the matching rear TRX wheel but dismissed it as an option years ago thinking it would be too much trouble to make it fit. On studying the TRX wheel against the Thundercat wheel last night I could see no differences at all in the actual wheels, just bearings, spacer & dust seals. Even the sprocket carrier is the same. Using T'cat bearings, spacer & sprocket carrier, FZR1000 axle & TRX wheel I now have matching 17" wheels fitted to my FZ & a Thundercat rear wheel with usable Metzeler Rennsport for sale if anyone is interested. The moral of this story? Not sure but what I did learn is that a TRX850 rear wheel & a Thundercat rear wheel are exactly the same.

Blimey Bill its been a while but my shock is a Hagon unit for the FZ. I seem to remember having some clearance issues with one of the arms i tried but can't be sure which one or what I did to solve the problem. Strengthening webs on the FZR arm may have been reduced to clear spring but can't be certain sorry.
