Welcome, Alien. I almost typed "Allen," but I'm glad I squinted harder at that name. It looks like your bike is in good hands. Keep fixing it. For the starter noise, have you cleaned all the connections on the battery and its cables? Sometimes poor connections will result in the starter not fully engaging. Or, it might be a tired battery. I suppose it might also be dirty connections or wear in the starter too. I don't have any experience diagnosing the starter on an FZ, since mine just works, but there are others here with lots of troubleshooting experience who will help out. Also, remember that punctuation is your friend. The rush of words is harder to make sense of, especially for dyslexics like me. Take some pity on me and add a little white space here and there between ideas. Again, welcome! Scott

thanks a lot anything helps at this point and sorry for my writing not so good with words and spelling haha making me feel even more dumb than I already am I appreciate the feedback ill check it out I know my battery has been dying out a lot when I try starting it after I've road for awhile and when I do get it started its giving me a lot of backfire in low rpm like around 5-6000 trying to rebuild it but keeping it as original as it can be Attachments:

Your bike looks really original, and amazingly straight. Sorry to make you feel bad about your writing.
Good luck with the electronic ignition. Start with the fundamentals, like clean, tight connections. Test your battery too. Several times over the years I've had ignition problems solved with a new battery, most recently on a Saab.

thanks man i wanna keep it that way but looks like i wont be able to due to lack of finding the right parts, and its all good my old lady gives me shyt all the time on how i write just texting her haha. hopefully once i fix this oil leak i can diagnose the problem with the ignition starts up nice when it wants to, but now im gettin brutal backfire while riding just at 5-6000 rpms dont know what thats all about, thinking it could be from my oil leak so about to replace my oil pan gasket n head gasket due to old ones are cracked, so hopefully thatll fix the problem.

i work at a battery and tire shop, so i tested my battery the other day and read out that it was good with alotta juice, so i dont think its the battery but thinkin it could be the connectors cuz there old too haha thanks on the insight hopefully next weekend when i get my gaskets and other parts imma check the starter and the connections to the battery also

Check the wiring between the battery and the alternator. They corrode really badly by the connectors to the point they fail.
Take out the battery, give the wires from the alternator (the round bit just above your gear lever) a good look over where the wires connect to the loom. Mine failed just there and I couldn't find the problem until I went to swap out the alternater.

Did your bike take a fall, or did you? If it's you, I hope you're getting better. If it's the bike, I hope the damage isn't too bad.

haha both actually. the bikes good my leg caught her fall, just got a limp and slight pains here and there but still standin and im gettin better mechanically also in my riding. ive got her torn apart right now replacing the starter motor after opening it up and seein all this black dust like what you see changing break pads haha, im hoping its the starter motor and not the altenator cuz i just hear grinding in that area everytime i start it but now my fans not working, i think its the connection to the radiator so gonna be awhile till i ride her cuz im tight on dineros right now. once i get her running properly without her chokin up and dyin on me and havin to rev it so much to keep it running, gonna start gettin some new fairings due to mine are all busted from the my fall first bike+first ride+first fall=PASSION OF THE MOTORCYCLIST
