Hello, all.
My name is Bruiser. I live in Perth, Western Australia. I have just joined the forum and I have a 1FM 1985 FZ750 (Japanese released model) that I am in the process of restoring. It looks like I will be able to find very valuable info here!
I have been trying to find out the colour of the paint on the frame. It seems to be a metallic grey? Does anyone please know what colour it is? Or a equivalent colour. And from which paint manufacturer can I purchase the right colour.
Also my bike came without the lower fairing side covers, which have the FZ decals on them...If someone had a spare set that they could part with, or know where I could get a pair of those that would be great.
Thanks Regards,
Bruiser

Hello Bruiser, thanks for joining up.. . is that your real name?! Not sure if anyone has ever come up with a definite code or name for the frame colour other than graphite. Best bet would be to try & match it at your local paint shop. Fairing lowers are made by several people to my knowledge. Company called CASCU made mine. His name is Mark. Email address; spares@cascu.co.uk or someone in England called Paul who trades on ebay using the name Midnormold. Re-manufactured panels are never as good as originals in my experience but look okay once painted properly. Good luck with your restoration. Hope to see some pictures of your progress.

Hi Graham, Bruiser is my nickname. Thanks for the lead for the lower fairing side panels. I will check those guys out! If anyone has any original panels up for grabs... It will be greatly appreciated. Yes, I will try and match up the frame paint. I have found similar colour match in a duplicolor touch up pen. It is Tungsten Pearl metallic. But I need to look at it more carefully in the daylight. What is the general consensus on repainting the frame. Do most people just go for repainting them black? Or do they go to the trouble of trying to match the original frame paint colour? Attached is a pic of my bike after I bought it. Bruce Attachments:

Bruce, your upper frame tubes look to be the right color. Ask an auto paint shop to color match them and sell you a liter can of the paint. They will probably charge a fee for the service, and they will probably offer to paint those black frame tubes for another fee, but you could also do the painting yourself and save a lot of money. As long as you're careful and thorough, it should turn out great.
