Welcome! But are you from Wales, the Lake Country, or New Zealand? There are many lands that fit your description. Here in Oregon we've got quite a few scared sheep, but nobody here wears flat caps unless they're driving old MG's with string-back driving gloves. Haberdashery runs more to cowboy hats or baseball caps. You've got very exotic bikes, since almost none of them were available here in the US, especially the 2-strokes after 1980 or so. Any more pictures? Scott

Hi Scott, Welsh, Wales, land of song, Welsh Rugby,
pictures not my string point i seem to be behind the camera most of the time, when i get time will post,
the rs 250 Hondas are in the us, i bought some parts from florida, but boy oh boy the good old boys dont arf take their time shipping across the pond, as for the Suzuki's TR's there have been a few at Daytona raceway these past few years, ex works also replicas, they where all based on the road engine, two stroke twin, t 500 gt 500 over here. in the US there where called the titan ,
the two i have # one, is works spec engine lightend crank, centre plug heads, squished & ported for 38mm revers slide mikuni power jets etc with genuine works cr gearbox, in road modified chassis. twin front lockheed calipers, single rear. this one needs few finishing touches, i dont like some of the little things like brakets i made so will re make them.
# 2, has nova cr race box, works replica centre plug squished heads, again ported for 38mm carbs, amal smooth bores, in a replica Seeley frame, maxton TZ 350 yamaha front forks & wheels, TZ 750 disc's, again twin lockheed's up front and single rear, this one should be racing befor the end of season, just a little bed time reading lol,Ian

Welsh rugby... I used to play rugby in college. Being a small, fast guy I used to get more than my fair share of pounding, though, so I gave it up. It was great fun. The problem is that guys I played against spent their teenage years playing American football, and were very good at tackling as if they had full pads on. They'd about kill me, and just draw a penalty. But I digress.... Oh yeah, Suzuki T-500 Titans.... Yes, we have those. I haven't heard one at full roar for years. We also had some scary fast Kawasaki 2-stroke triples that just made the hair stand up on the back of your neck when they went by on the road at full throttle. I saw one of those for sale last year, but it was a real basket case. I dimly remember RS250's as factory race bikes, but that's where my knowledge of them ends. I'll have to refresh my memory. Ian, you're taking my back to my youth. Scott

Scott, same here just another old git lol,
kwak triples are now fetching silly monies, in good working order you can expect to pay £5000.00 british pounds upwards , to much for me, the brits come over there and are buying them in any condition all the 2 stroke triples 250.350,400,500,750, by the container, then all the rd ( rz)yamahas in fact anything hey can make a lot if cash from, suzuki 500,4's / rd 500,4 yamahas are fetching £10.000 pounds if you can find one,
so what's your favorite form of two wheel'd transport at present ? op's have to go postie knocking at door, regards, Ian

"Favorite" 2-wheeled transport is an oxymoron this week. I've been frustrated by lack of time to get out in the garage to finish getting my FZ700 running. This week the Ninja 250 I've been riding the last year had technical difficulties (no revving above 5000 RPM) so I brought it back home from work in the pack of my pickup. I should have time Saturday to diagnose what broke on it. Then I'll decide whether to put the priority on the Ninja or the FZ, or to go back to getting my old Saab Turbo ready to sell.
There are still a few Seventies 2-strokes under tarps in backyards here, and they generally go very cheap. The few collectors of them in Oregon don't ride them on the road very often. There are lots of motorcycles out on the roads this time of year, but old sport bikes are pretty thin on the ground, either 2-stroke or 4-stroke. We've got some very efficient businesses that buy up any old backyard find and sell them for parts, but it's possible to beat them to a find if you're ready to gamble. Last year a Kaw H2 Mach II 350 triple that didn't run had an asking price of $300, and it remained listed for months. It was really rusty with lots of corrosion on its engine castings visible in the pictures, so I stayed away from it. Somebody bought it, though.
