I know Graham likes the Lt Blue/White but mine is the same Red/White/Blue as yours, front part anyway, I'll put a bit more into mine soon, got hold of some Fzr1000 two pot calipers, will put those on soon! keeping the original forks like Grunt33/Paul did. trinity.

Inspirational!!! That is the bike I'd like to build. Any chance you could give a 'role-call' of bits you've fitted and sources. That paint job is just awesome. Who did that!! and was it expensive

Hi Seedoubleyou, Most of the bits were bought from breakers or the big bad bay, some modified by myself and some parts i made or had made specially.
The complete front end is 05 R1 but with a stem swap. LSL clipons (fairing trimmed for clearance)
Swingarm is modified Thunderace. Rear wheel is 5SL model R6 (machined sprocket carrier to get chain run right +offset front sprocket) Rear brake caliper and carrier is modified 2000 model R6 CNC'd rearsets loosely based on FZ race kit items. Ohlins YZF750 shock (proper swedish, not oe yam version) with exup linkage etc.
Exhaust is modified supertrapp system and works great.
Koso clocks.
Loads of Titanium bolts etc from pro bolt.
Powdercoat by triple s.
Paint is by Esoteric in Blackpool and wasn't as expensive as you might think.
It helps that i'm a fabricator/welder by trade and can make up wheel spacers etc on the lathe which has saved me a bit of dosh along the way.
I havn't gone into great detail so if anyone is wondering about anything ask away, im quite happy to share any info with fellow enthusiasts of these great old bikes.
Robbo.

Wow Robbo, You've GOT to be proud of that bike. It looks truly amazing. Thanks for showing it...it gives me something to work toward. Honestly, I'm putting one of your pics in my garage. Thanks! Dave

I'm pleased its given you some ideas Rangerdave, I personally find modified old bikes far more interesting than the latest modern stuff, I did have one of the first red and white R1s when they first came out which was amazing but everyone else had one too. I prefer something a bit different nowadays but its probably got something to do with my age too.
Tomster, to be honest i've only been out on it a handfull of times since i got it back on the road but thats only because its hardly stopped pissing down since! I might have a run through your neck of the woods on saturday if its a decent day, the forecasts not too bad.

You weren't coming past the Melbreak Hotel bout 4:20 this afternoon were you? As I was passing a car there was a bike coming the other way that looked a bit like yours but I never got a decent look. I'm away to pick another FZ up tomorrow off Graham so I probs won't be around, unfortunately, or I'd have loved to have a look at it. We'll have to arrange it for another time.
