Here we are in the padock, all signed on and ready to go. Saturday evening I will be out on the 350 classic first its a bike I know well and just right for the first couple of laps. Actually rode the FZ for the first time (around the paddock road) had to change things already. Forks dropped through a fair bit, more preload on rear shock and a thicker seat pad. All the controls feel ok not too bad at all, clip-ons forward a tad, rear brake leaver dropped down a tad and gear change up a tad. The first MGP rain has now arrived and brought a gusty wind with it. Weatherman says fine tomorrow but showers heading in, in the evening. Lets hope practice get away ok.

Well I have ridden the bike, two twenty minute sessions around Jurby....Handles fine, just feels a little heavy. Unfortunately the flat spot on the dyno is really bad when riding the bike REALLY BAD. Got three oil leaks too. Generator bung (easy fix) cambox cover (erm easyish fix) the sight oil level glass is leaking hummmmmmmmmmmmm.
Have changed the DJ needles out and replaced with standard needles to see if the flat spot eases, if no joy will try airbox without filter in it maybe a still air intake will assist. Straight line testing on Wednesday morning at Jurby so will go through things then and hopefully cure it for Wednesday evening practice. Thats the plan anyhow.
Brakes ok but need to change mastercylinder. At the moment its got a YZF750 one on it and its very wooden will change for an R6 one tomorrow.
Monday looks fine so plan is 'again' start out on the 350 for a couple of laps.
Oh the joy of the iom WEATHER

FZ cam cover oil leak sorted crack in rubber, silicone over window will wait and see about that. Generator bung re done as builder nipped o ring and its split but silicone on that too. Master cylinder changed and race pads fitted. Jurby tomorow to try out FZ again see if needle change does anything. Two laps done on K4 11th fastest but wheel bearing collapsed, now repaired. Out on 500 tonight www.flickr.com/photos/ellan_vannin/6075293795/in/set-72157627378681293but session red flagged due to incident at School House corner didnt look very good bike and straw bales on fire, rider in middle of road and bits of bike everywhere....rider looked like he was moving though. All bikes were stopped at Ramsey but my 500 wouldnt restart the available pushers couldnt push fast enough. Onwards

I'd be interested to see the power and fuelling graphs when you get it working. If, as I suspect you, get midrange gains but not much at the top end it could be the way forwards for FZs in Thunderbike UK BTW, the tuner I bought my stacks off checked whether I was using 34mm or 37mm carbs. I thought this was about the fitting but, if you think the castings are the same, it was probably because they need to be a different height.
